Square Prop 1.5m Installation
Crafted from Saligna timber and reinforced with 2.3 mm wires, the Square Prop is engineered to deliver controlled yielding for enhanced underground safety. Its innovative design features four precision cuts at the top, allowing the timber to expand outward, significantly improving hanging wall stability.
Installation
- Props are loaded on carts from Surface and transported Underground.
- Props arrive underground and are then transported to the sections and panels for installation.
- Stopes are measured between foot wall & hang wall to ensure the correct size prop is installed.
- Props are measured and cut to the correct size.
- Pre-stress units are placed on top or on the bottom of the prop and the prop is inserted into the position where it needs to be installed.
- Props are then hammered in from the face until it is 90˚with the hang wall.
- The pre-stress unit is pressured to the correct pressure, then the prop is successfully installed.
Hammering the prop after installation to verify the installation is also a must.
